Director of research at the ISPA research unit in Milan, where he has been the head since 2010, she has been involved in and coordinated several national and international research projects.
Her research activity concerns issues related to food quality and safety: useful, beneficial, or pathogenic microbial populations; characterization of bacteria for functional foods; study of biomolecules produced by bacteria of agri-food interest. Author of more than 170 scientific publications
