Hired as part of the SUS-MIRRI.IT project to strengthen the infrastructure of the ITEM microbial collection, he mainly deals with the backup copy and recovery plan of the collection. The main areas of interest are microbiology and agri-food biotechnology. He currently follows several lines of research, including the study of antimicrobial compounds produced by lactic acid bacteria and their biotechnological applications, and the development of functional foods and probiotics.
