Her research activity aims to assess the effects of human activities on biodiversity, structure and functioning of marine benthic systems. In particular, her research activity focuses on the following topics: -increasing knowledge of marine biodiversity, to support conservation and management measures for preserving ecosystem goods and services; -investigating dynamics, mechanisms and ecological consequences of bioinvasions; -evaluating the potential use of marine organisms for biotech purposes.
