My field of work currently focuses on the nutritional assessment and the genetic improvement of horticultural crops by both conventional and New Breeding Technologies (genome editing) aiming for the enhancement in secondary metabolites to address food security within the context of climate change. I also work on the local agrobiodiversity and neglected species in the Apulia region subjected to the increasing genetic erosion for the possibility of rescuing and re-including them in our daily diet.
