The research activity is directed to the application of in vitro and ex vivo cellular models for the study of toxicology and biological properties of nutraceuticals and functional foods. The experimental activity is focused on the evaluation of electrophysiological parameters of intestinal cells and tissues ; bioaccessibility and bioavailability, cytotoxicity, proliferation, antioxidant activity and redox state, immunomodulatory activity, hypoglycemic effect.
