He is a plant pathologist, specialized in biocontrol and the use of fungal and plant metabolites as agrochemicals. Employed at ISPA since 1987, he coordinated or organized projects and international events, e.g., one EU and one LIFE project; three Rockefeller/OECD Conferences; and a NATO Advanced School. He was involved in several COST actions. He is the President of the EWRS. He was the tutor of many students and had speeches at conferences and courses. Over 110 publications in indexed journals
