The project falls within the "Health, nutrition, quality of life" area of the SNSI and the "Nutraceuticals, nutrigenomics, and functional foods" development trajectory, implementing line 5.1 of the Operational Plan to combat malnutrition and promote the Mediterranean diet. It aims to create a national network to address malnutrition, develop nutraceutical/nutrigenomics centers, nutritional status biobanks, and programs for the Mediterranean diet. Specific objectives include: 1) building infrastructure for data management and processing; 2) establishing a network for multidimensional assessment and personalized interventions for malnutrition phenotypes; 3) developing AI algorithms for personalized diets and precision functional foods; 4) preventing metabolic diseases through nutraceuticals and functional foods; 5) designing educational campaigns to combat malnutrition and promote the principles of the Mediterranean diet.
