HEMPRO, co-funded by Regione Puglia, focuses on enhancing the hemp food supply chain through two main research lines: optimizing the agronomic process for the production of microgreens/baby leaf and developing a protocol for hemp tempeh. Starting from the characterization of seeds from different varieties, the activities range from field production to pilot product development, aiming to assess their nutritional and functional potential. The project includes the transfer of optimized agronomic practices and biotechnological processes to partner companies, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of the introduced innovations. Additionally, it focuses on disseminating results to local and national stakeholders, promoting innovation, sustainability, and growth in the hemp food supply chain.
