Age-It is a research project on aging aimed at building an inclusive society for all ages, addressing demographic challenges, and promoting active aging. The consortium involves 350 experts from various disciplines. The project is organized into 10 thematic areas (Spokes) covering aspects from demography to the biology of aging and assistive technologies. Spoke 8 focuses on multidimensional clinical and technological interventions to address age-related disabilities. WP3, in particular, develops interventions in long-term care facilities, integrating advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to prevent functional and cognitive decline in older adults. CNR-ISPA participates in this WP by producing new functional foods, characterizing them, and assessing how their controlled administration in nursing homes can improve health status and the gut microbiota
